Baseball Team Announces Second Prospect Camp, Nov .1

Head coach Greg Brown and the NSU baseball coaching staff are holding the second of two baseball camps  for potential Sharks on  Sunday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. Registration is $75.00. Ten of the players on the current roster previously attended prospect camps.

Strictly Baseball at Nova Southeastern University offers an opportunity for players to receive valuable instruction on the fundamental skills of baseball. Campers will be made aware of the characteristics that define successful baseball players. Organized games between campers will provide a competitive outlet after specific drills have been practiced. Contests built into drills capture the learner’s attention, which results in attentive practice.

Drill progressions will be aimed towards recognizing and developing good habits in all aspects of the game. General courtesy, respect for teammates and opponents and the importance of hard work will be taught to the campers through example by the Nova Southeastern Baseball staff. This is an opportunity to be in front of the coaching staff at Nova Southeastern University and to showcase your skills and show what type of player you are.

The Sharks are the defending Sunshine State Conference Champions, which earned them their third trip to the NCAA South Regionals in the last five years. They were ranked No. 1 in the nation by Perfect Game’s Nicholas Herfordt in four consecutive rankings from April 15 through the end of the regular season. Three former Sharks have reached Major League Baseball, and 15 players have been drafted since 2001.
