Roberto Baroniel continues to collect accolades for his performance against Florida Southern.

Collecting his second accolade of the week, Roberto Baroniel (Sr., Miami, Fla.) has been named the NCBWA South Region Pitcher of the Week for his performance against Florida Southern on Mar. 20.

Baroniel allowed just one earned run in a complete game victory over Sunshine State Conference foe Florida Southern on Friday, marking his first complete game of 2015 and just the second of his career. Known as “Bubba” around the NSU community, Baroniel struck out a career-high 10 hitters against the Mocs, adding to his team leading 47 strikeouts.

The award marks the second NCWBA South Region award that NSU has earned in 2015, as Justin Garcia (Jr., Hialeah, Fla.) earned the award earlier in the year for his five-home run performance over the span of a week, including four against the No. 14 Saint Leo Lions, a series that NSU swept to open up conference play.

Baroniel and the Sharks will be back in action this Friday, March 27, paying a visit to the No. 20 Fighting Knights of Lynn University. Baroniel will be on the mound Friday afternoon at 3 p.m., taking on Max Watt of LU, in what is hyped to be one of the best pitching matchups of the year.
