Bahamas Hosts Seminar on Personal Financial Management
The Bahamas Student Educational Center (SEC) recently hosted a personal financial management seminar for its constituents in Nassau on the island of New Providence. Albert Williams, Ph.D., assistant professor of finance and economics at the Huizenga Business School, was the presenter. The focus of his presentation was to demonstrate how to foster and maintain sound financial management in today’s volatile economy.
While Williams provided insight regarding the U.S. and global economies, he also addressed areas that are specific to the Bahamian economy in terms of its struggles and opportunities. The main topics for the seminar were:
• Global Economic Environment
• Economic Environment in the Bahamas
• Personal Finance Survey Data for Nassau
• Personal Financial Management Best Practices
• Personal Financial Management and Happiness.
The seminar was chaired by Juliett Reid, director for the Bahamas SEC.
