President Hanbury Named Honorary Chair of Broward Walk Now for Autism Speaks Event
Nova Southeastern University President George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., has been named honorary walk chair of the Broward Walk Now for Autism Speaks event. Autism Speaks is the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization.
As honorary walk chair, Hanbury will be responsible for hosting and promoting the annual Broward fundraising and awareness event, which brings thousands of participants, donors and other supporters together to raise funds for autism research, advocacy and family services. This year’s Broward Walk Now for Autism Speaks event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 at NSU’s main campus.
“NSU incorporates a multi-disciplinary approach to advancing research regarding autism, and this event will help to raise funds and awareness about this important matter,” said Hanbury. “Community service is one of NSU’s core values, and because of both these values – research and community — I am proud to have been selected.”
