Audition for Nova Singers
If you would enjoy singing, come out and audition for the Nova Singers, NSU’s community choir. Auditions will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 30 in the Choir Room of Hollywood Hills High School, 5400 Stirling Road, Hollywood.
Singers should be prepared to sing a series of notes after they have been played on the piano. They will also need to demonstrate their ability to sight-read from a fairly easy hymn or song. Finally they may be asked to sing as part of a quartet to determine how well they blend with other singers. Singers are not expected to prepare a solo recitation.
The Nova Singers meet weekly on Tuesday nights 7:00 – 9:45 p.m. at Hollywood Hills High School. Rehearsals consist of preparing for concerts that are scheduled for December, March and May. Occasionally there is also a summer concert in June or July. Singers are expected to attend all rehearsals and all concerts.
