Athletics Academic Services Wraps Up Busy Week of Events
The Nova Southeastern University Athletics Academic Services office recently took part in a pair of events aimed at preparing student-athletes for the future. On Wednesday, the Sharks attended the NSU Undergraduate Student Success Fair and on Thursday, the office hosted the Lunch & Learn: Financial Basics Workshop event.
Several departments were in attendance at the fair to answer questions for students including Student Activities, Career Development and Academic Advising.
“I thought the Undergraduate Student Success Fair was great,” said women’s basketball’s Katie Barnard (So., Granger, Ind.). “I stopped by the Career Development table and it really helped me learn so much more about the opportunities for internships, job interviews and getting help with my resume. I also learned about the Career and Grad School Expo happening Sept. 30th, definitely excited to attend that. Plus, I won a prize!”
The busy week continued Thursday when the office hosted its financial workshop. Lunch was provided and representatives from PNC Bank attended to teach student-athletes about aspects of credit cards, banking, identity theft, student loans and more.
