Asuaje Selected by Red Sox in MLB First-Year Player Draft
Nova Southeastern middle infielder Carlos Asuaje was selected in the MLB First-Year Player Draft on Saturday, in the 11th round (323rd overall) by the Boston Red Sox.
Asuaje (Jr., Weston, Fla.), should he sign with the Red Sox, would leave NSU as one of the most highly-decorated players to ever play for the school. He was named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore, Freshman of the Year after his first season, was a three-time All-SSC choice, and received five All-Region and three All-American honors in his career. He was also the recipient of three Gold Glove awards at the regional and national levels, at two different positions.
