Art Roundtable: Artist Maria Martinez-Canas, May 17
Join us for a noon day discussion with artist Maria Martínez-Cañas on Tuesday, May 17.
The work of Martínez-Cañas has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the U.S. and abroad. Born in Cuba and raised in Puerto Rico, where she developed a love of photography and art, Maria Martínez-Cañas work in experimental photography pushes beyond the documentary aspects of the medium to embrace elements such as drawing, collage and photomontage. Maps, family photographs, and art historical images recur in her work as visual markers documenting and reinventing the past.
