April is Autistic Spectrum Disorder Month
April is Autistic Spectrum Disorder Month. This most difficult disorder is now affecting one in every 88 children. For many years, Nova Southeastern University’s Mailmen Segal Center has been on the cutting edge of bringing programs to help in changing the lives of all these children and their families.
NSU will host the Autism Speaks Walk on Saturday, April 14. We will have a children’s activity tent that University School students and students in the Occupational Therapy program will staff. We will also have an NSU resource table so anyone who wants to join us can bring their information to the table for distribution or help to staff the table. For anyone wishing additional information or programs at our center, please contact Rebecca at 262-7159.
For this month’s Health Hint I have attached below the Fact Sheet on Autistic Spectrum Disorders from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention which I believe is very informative.
