Apply now for Summer Entrepreneurship Camp for High School Students

The deadline is approaching to register for the Entrepreneurship Summer Camp and Personal Enrichment program (E.S.C.A.P.E.). E.S.C.A.P.E. , which is offered by the Huizenga Business School’s Hudson Center of Entrepreneurship and Executive Education, is open to highly motivated students who will be going into grades 10, 11 or 12 in the 2010-2011 school year, or will be graduating from high school this school year, and who have a passion for business and wish to learn more about entrepreneurship.

E.S.C.A.P.E. is designed to give students an understanding and appreciation for the process of starting a business and maintaining ethical business practices. Our goal is to educate as well as inspire the young entrepreneur.

Each day of the camp is packed with lectures from NSU professors and South Florida business leaders, lively discussions, and interactive exercises. Topics include: Introduction to entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation; Developing a business plan; Formulating a marketing plan; Financial planning; and Leadership skills, business etiquette, and presentation of business plans to real CEOs.

Campers will also get a sense of college life when they visit the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, the Alvin Sherman Library, the Don Taft Student Center, and take a tour of the campus. They will also get an opportunity to hear from a panel of Huizenga School entrepreneurship students.

The cut-off date for applications for both sessions is May 9, 2011. Class size is limited to ensure participation in discussions and activities. Students are encouraged to apply now here: www.huizenga.nova.edu/ExecEd/ESCAPE/.
