Announcing the 2010 Outstanding Teachers from the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences

Each spring, the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences recognizes one full-time and one part-time faculty member as Outstanding Teachers of the Year for their strong commitment to student learning and student success. The college has many outstanding teachers, and these awards reflect endorsement and support from students and peers.

Dimitri Giarikos, Ph.D., associate professor and coordinator of sciences in the Division of Math, Science, and Technology, has been selected as the 2010 Outstanding Full-Time Teacher of the Year in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences.

Sean Erwin, Ph.D., adjunct professor in the Division of Humanities, has been selected as the 2010 Outstanding Part-Time Teacher of the Year in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences.

As a component of the prestigious honor of being selected as Outstanding Full-Time Teacher of Year, Giarikos will represent all faculty members and welcome students to the start of the 2010–2011 academic year during the convocation program, which will be held on Sept. 7. Both recipients also will be recognized at the Baccalaureate Reception on May 14 in the Don Taft University Center at NSU.
