Alvin Sherman Library at “A Day for Children”
A Day For Children.
On Saturday, September 21, the Alvin Sherman Library supported “A Day For Children” with a special guest appearance with Sharkey, the library’s mascot and special effort to encourage parents and children to be healthy readers by signing up for a library card. The Sherman Library promotes library cards to all patrons, including children, and no child is too young to have his or her own library card. Thousands of people attended this health fair, which builds awareness of available child focused services in the community. There were photo opportunities galore with Sharkey, the Sherman Library’s own mascot.
