Alumni Spotlight: CAHSS Wounded Warrior Alum Joins the IRS as Investigative Analyst

Andre Sinclair, M.S., graduate of the National Security Affairs master’s program in NSU’s College of Art, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) has joined the federal government’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as an investigative analyst.
The IRS has been working in conjunction with the Veterans Affairs Administration Office to form an alliance to help with the reintegration of wounded veterans. This Vocational Reintegration Program known as the “Wounded Warriors Project” enables veterans to acquire the skills, knowledge and abilities for possible employment within the federal government and the opportunity to serve their country once again. Sinclair was selected as South Florida’s pilot of the Wounded Warriors Project, interning as an investigative analyst with the IRS. His responsibilities ranged from querying existing law enforcement, financial, and tax databases in order to discern interrelationships and correlate information, to creating reports, briefing items, etc.
According to Sinclair: “Although in stepping into this role there was no guarantee of securing a permanent position within the unit or department, the responsibilities and critical nature of my work lent itself to me applying the same level of quality, dedication and loyalty that I demonstrated when serving within my unit in the Marine Corp several years ago. I have been recognized for the hard work, dedication and commitment. I am humbled to say, I am now a permanent employee of the IRS, and despite my circumstance (paralysis), there couldn’t be any better means for rehabilitation as I’m serving my country once again.”
