Alumni Receives Award from the Aultman Health Foundation
Matthew Mercer, DNP, CRNA delivered a poster board presentation on, “Nursing Assessment and Management of Pregnant Women at Risk for Obstructive Sleep Apnea”, at the Aultman Health Foundation, Spirit of Inquiry, Magnet research day in Canton, Ohio.
Mercer’s research project and presentation were selected for the “Spirit of Inquiry -Best in Research 2017” award competing against many high quality research projects in nursing science and allied health care. At the August 2017 NSU nursing graduation awards ceremony Mercer’s project received the faculty, “Outstanding DNP Project Award 2017”. Dr. Mercer recognized Dr. Eglintine Rigaud, Dr. Mary Mites-Campbell, and Dr. Kelly Henson-Evertz (NSU College of Nursing) for their invaluable assistance and contributions leading to these awards.
Before receiving his Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree, Summa Cum Laude, Mercer graduated from the Shepard Broad Law Center (2012) at NSU, Magna Cum Laude, with a Masters’ of Science in Health Law, specializing in the Law of Healthcare Risk Management.
Matthew Mercer, DNP, CRNA practices nurse anesthesia in Canton, Ohio, and has a special interest in Obstetrical Anesthesia. He lives with his wife Susan Mercer, M.D., and has 3 grown children.
