Aldabe and Gutierrez Named SSC Swimmers of the Week
NSU’s freshman duo, Marco Aldabe (Alicante, Spain) and Laura Gutierrez (Valenica, Spain) swept this week’s Sunshine State Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimmer of the Week awards, presented by VALIC. Aldabe collected two first-place finishes and two NCAA provisional qualifying times to lead the No. 10 Sharks to a 120-85 win over No. 8 Tampa. He finished first in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:41.68 for his first of two provisional times. Aldabe then took first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:50.43 for his second national provisional time. He also was a part of the Sharks’ 400-yard medley relay team that finished second in a time of 3:26.01. Complete Release
