AERA Special Interest Group Appoints GSCIS Faculty Member to Position
Martha Snyder, Ph.D.
Martha Snyder, Ph.D., associate professor at NSU’s Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences (GSCIS), was recently appointed by the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Design and Technology Executive Committee as the Special Interest Group’s Communication Manager.
Snyder will assume this new appointment beginning Apr. 18, for one year. AERA is a national research society that strives to advance knowledge about education, to encourage scholarly inquiry related to education, and to promote the use of research to improve education and serve the public good.
Prior to joining GSCIS in 2006, she spent over 15 years in business and industry primarily as an instructional designer and performance improvement and organizational development consultant. Her research interests include instructional design theory, model building and validation, communities of practice, and workplace learning. She is a member of the American Educational Research Association, The Sloan Consortium and the Association for Educational Communications and Technology and serves as a reviewer for various journals in technology and higher education.
