Adjunct Law Professor Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award
Broward Chief Assistant State Attorney Charles B. “Chuck” Morton, an adjunct professor in trial advocacy at the Shepard Broad Law Center, was presented with a lifetime achievement award for legal education by The Florida Prosecuting Attorney’s Association.
Throughout Morton’s 33-year career, he has traveled throughout the state teaching countless classes on effective litigation to prosecutors from Florida’s 20 circuits. At the award presentation during the association’s annual meeting in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Morton was recognized for his “service in furthering prosecution education in Florida.”
Morton has been Chief Assistant State Attorney in the 17th Circuit in Broward since 2005. Before that, he served as head of SAO’s Homicide unit for 16 years. Morton, a graduate of Rollins College and the University of Florida law school, was the first prosecutor that State Attorney Mike Satz hired after Satz took office.
