Abraham S. Fischler School of Education Hosts Annual Cervantes Awards Ceremony
Nova Southeastern University’s Abraham S. Fischler School of Education and the Hispanic Advisory Board recognized more than a dozen distinguished educators throughout Miami-Dade County on October 28 during the 17th Annual Cervantes Awards Ceremony, held at the Miami Airport Hilton.
Event honorees received “Outstanding Educator Awards” for the significant contributions that they have made in the education of Hispanic students. In addition, a total of nine elementary, middle, and high school students who competed in an essay contest, sponsored by TotalBank, received “Cervantes Outstanding Student Essay Awards.” Viviana Chizik was selected as this year’s scholarship recipient. Dr. Abraham S. Fischler, President Emeritus and university professor at Nova Southeastern University was also honored by the Hispanic Advisory Board for his more than 25 years of service in education.
