No. 3 Rowing Second at SSC Championship; Varsity-4 Victorious

Boudreau

The No. 3 Nova Southeastern rowing team claimed second place at the Sunshine State Conference Championship, falling to Barry by one point in the standings. NSU won one out of two championship races, claiming a victory in the varsity-4 race.

“I am extremely proud of the way we raced today,” said head coach Stephen Frazier-Wong. “Our varsity-4’s were extremely strong and put both of their bows ahead of Barry. To have the two fastest times in that event today showed great determination from both of our crews. Coach Sander and coach Sarff have done a great job with those two boats and deserve a lot of credit for their success. Our eight also raced valiantly and they only came up short by less than two seconds. Barry is a very fast crew and I congratulate them on their conference championship. They are setting the standard for Division II this year and we are proud to have raced them well today.”

NSU’s victory in the varisty-4 won their race with a time of 7:36.0 in the first of two championship events. The time beat No. 2 Barry by over seven seconds. Complete Release
