10th Annual ESS Informational Summit Focused on Core Value “Innovation.”
Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services (ESS) Stephanie G. Brown, Ed.D., and the ESS team welcomed more than 200 NSU colleagues from across the university to the 10th Annual ESS Informational Summit on July 19, 2018, in the Carl DeSantis Building on the Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus. ESS offered more than 20 concurrent sessions on topics ranging from regulatory updates, room scheduling, and fee assessment, to DegreeWorks, scholarships, and registrar policies and procedures.
To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the ESS Informational Summit, ESS hosted a friendly competition around the theme of “Innovation,” one of the university’s core values. The ESS Innovation Award was presented to Julie Vinci, Michael Pennetti Jr., and Dr. Sarah Vielot-Pierre from the Office of Academic Advising in the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship for their Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) matrix, a tool designed to assist in the creation of academic plans for SAP appeals. More specifically, the SAP Matrix is a dynamic spreadsheet with hardcoded formulas which assists academic advisors with identifying the solution needed for students to meet SAP standards.
A photo gallery as well as presentation materials and a copy of the award winning SAP Matrix are now available to all NSU faculty and staff on ESS CommunityNet at https://www.nova.edu/portal/ess/summit/index.html.
