Summer Fun Camp! At Nova Southeastern University’s Mailman Segal Institute
Nova Southeastern University’s Mailman Segal Institute (MSI), Summer Fun Camp! for children ages 2-5 is now open for registration.
The interactive camp begins Monday, June 8 offering half day and full day options with three sessions for you to choose from.
Nova Southeastern University Students to Raise Money for Abused and Neglected Children
Nova Southeastern University physician assistant students will be selling concessions at Boston Red Sox spring training games to raise money for abused and neglected children.
The students will be raising up to $35,000 for the Tender Loving Care Christian Children’s Home, a nonprofit that provides shelter for children who have been moved out of their homes because of abuse, neglect, abandonment or mental health concerns. TLC offers these children a last place resort before they enter the care of the state Department of Children and Families.
The fourth annual Sallarulo’s Race for Champions 5K Run/Walk benefiting Special Olympics Broward County will be held on Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) main campus at 3301 College Ave. in Davie on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009.
The race starts at 8 a.m., with registration and packet pickup from 6:15-7:55 a.m. in the Miniaci Courtyard next to the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s Carl DeSantis building.
Runners and walkers of all ages will compete for prizes while raising funds for the 1,000 athletes of Special Olympics Broward County. Local Special Olympics athletes will also be on hand to cheer on runners and present medals.
Former Presidential Candidates to Speak at NSU Law Center
Two groundbreaking United States presidential candidates will participate in a presentation on Thursday, March 26, at 6 p.m. at the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center.
George S. McGovern and John B. Anderson will speak and answer questions on their careers in politics and beyond at the event titled “Turning the Inside Out: A Conversation with George McGovern and John Anderson.” Following the presentation, McGovern will hold a book signing of his recently released book Abraham Lincoln.
Nova Southeastern University Makes Major Gift Announcement, Names University Center
Nova Southeastern University (NSU) announced today the naming of its 366,000 square-foot University Center in honor of businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist Don Taft in recognition of a gift from The Taft Foundation. NSU President Ray Ferrero Jr., J.D., made the announcement during homecoming ceremonies Wednesday evening.
The Circle of Friends of the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center recently hosted their annual State of the University Address with NSU President Ray Ferrero, Jr. as the keynote speaker. During his address, President Ferrero stressed the importance of NSU’s core missions of academic excellence, research and service to children and talked about the community service and outreach the university provides at the county, state, national and international levels.
NSU Business School to Host T. Boone Pickens and Mike Jackson for Town Hall Meeting
Mike Jackson, chairman and chief executive officer of AutoNation, America’s largest automotive retailer, and T. Boone Pickens, chairman of BP Capital Management, will jointly hold a town hall meeting at Nova Southeastern University’s main campus on Feb. 17 to discuss America’s current and future energy situation.
Low-income children to receive free dental services from Nova Southeastern University

Experience the Florida Film Premiere of My Nappy Roots: A Journey Through Black
The Florida film premiere and a discussion of My Nappy Roots: A Journey through Black Hair-itage, will take place in Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Carl DeSantis Building’s Knight Auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m.
My Nappy Roots is the award winning documentary on black hair featuring Kim Fields, Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Vivica A. Fox. Connect with the film’s director, Regina Kimbell, fans and a panel of experts during a community discussion on the historical, professional and personal accounts of the black hair journey.
Seventy students from three inner-city Miami-Dade County elementary schools will experience first-hand how good grades can pay off when Miami HEAT mascot Burnie visits with representatives from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) to hand out HEAT tickets to honor roll students.
