Circle of Friends Hosts “State of the University” Address with NSU President Ray Ferrero, Jr. as Keynote Speaker

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – The Circle of Friends of the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center recently hosted their annual State of the University Address with NSU President Ray Ferrero, Jr. as the keynote speaker.

Wayne Huizenga, the namesake of Nova Southeastern University’s School of Business and Entrepreneurship, left, joins Circle of Friends Treasurer Michael Greenberg, Circle of Friends President Anita Paoli, and NSU President Ray Ferrero, Jr. at the annual State of the University Address hosted by the Circle of Friends of the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center.

During his address, President Ferrero stressed the importance of NSU’s core missions of academic excellence, research and service to children and talked about the community service and outreach the university provides at the county, state, national and international levels.

President Ferrero also spoke about how proud he is of NSU’s faculty, staff and students at the Jan. 13 address.

Circle of Friends President Anita Paoli speaks

Circle of Friends President Anita Paoli speaks about the many achievements of NSU under the direction of President Ray Ferrero, Jr. during her introduction of President Ferrero, who was the evening’s keynote speaker.

“I believe in what we do here at NSU,” he said in his speech. “I believe we are making a difference in the lives of thousands of individuals, children and their families. I can’t think of a more appropriate thing to celebrate as we embark on a new year filled with incalculable potential.”

President Ferrero continued, “I look at 2009 as a time when NSU will continue to uphold its core values, build on academic success, serve the community, and explore new ways to grow in prestige and esteem. In these challenging economic times, NSU remains strong.”

NSU’s fifth president, Ray Ferrero, Jr., speaks about NSU’s commitment to academic excellence, research, and service to children and the community during his 2009 State of the University Address.

The Circle of Friends is a diverse group of individuals who share the common goal of furthering the intellectual resources of the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center.
