Two Day Party & Movie Marathon Countdown to Release of “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” – July 15 & 16

Nova Southeastern University’s Alvin Sherman Library hosts a Potter-themed celebration with food, movies and costumes

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. –Potter-maniacs can rejoice because after being delayed last fall, “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” – the sixth film in the series modeled after J.K. Rowling’s hugely successful books – is finally being released on Wed. July 15.

And to celebrate, teens aged 12-18 are invited to Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Alvin Sherman Library, Research and Information Technology Center for a two-day Harry Potter Movie Marathon and Potter Pot Luck. The schedule is:

  • Wed. July 15 – Harry Potter Party Part 1, from 2:30 to 9 p.m.
  • Thurs. July 16 – Harry Potter Party Part 2, from 12:30 to 9 p.m.

The parties are free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to bring friends, dress up, and of course bring their favorite Hogwarts snacks to share during the movies.  The Alvin Sherman Library is on NSU’s main campus at 3100 Ray Ferrero, Jr. Blvd. in Davie.

While at the library, don’t forget to avoid rental fees by stocking up on free check outs of the latest Blu-Rays, DVDs and video games. Teens can also earn service hours by volunteering over the summer.
