Susan H. Peirce named executive director of development at Nova Southeastern University

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla.—Susan H. Peirce, M.A., has been named executive director of development at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). The announcement was made today by NSU Vice President of Institutional Advancement Joanne Ferchland-Parella.

In her role, Peirce will assist the university with advancement; including annual giving, major and leadership gift fundraising, campaign management, athletic fundraising, and the development and management of comprehensive advancement programs.

“Ms. Peirce brings a wealth of successful fundraising and management experience to NSU,” Ferchland-Parella said. “Her leadership in development will be instrumental in helping the university reach its goals.

Peirce joins NSU after three years at Florida Atlantic University as vice president for campaigns and seven years as their associate vice president for advancement. Previously, she served as vice president of university advancement at Saint Leo University in Florida. She has also held development and campaign positions at Northern Illinois University, Villanova University, Chatham College and the Pennsylvania State University.

Peirce earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Chatham College in Pittsburgh and her master’s degree in educational leadership and educational policy studies from Northern Illinois University. Active in the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), Peirce has received the CASE Crystal Apple Award for outstanding teaching and is a member of the CASE commission on philanthropy.
