New “Splash!” Exhibit Showcases Gold Coast Watercolor Society Artwork in NSU Library’s Second Floor Gallery – Now till Sept. 15

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – On display now through Sept. 15 in Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center, “Splash!” features original artwork created by members of the Gold Coast Watercolor Society (GCWS).

The group is the premier watercolor club in South Florida, and several members have been nationally recognized for their work. “Splash!” coincides with the Alvin Sherman Library’s 2010 Summer Reading Program, which is themed “Make a Splash” and features free family activities throughout the summer.

“Splash!” features 45 amazing works by 24 talented local artists. The exhibit is FREE and open to the public during the following hours:

  • Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

As part of the exhibit, there will also be special demonstrations and classes including:

  • How to Paint a Wave – July 10 at 2 p.m. Catch the wave with Henriette “Kitte” Arnold, an award winning local watercolor artist, who will demonstrate ocean wave painting. For more information about Kitte, and to view her work please visit www.kitteartist.com.
