Rethink, Renew & Refocus in 2010 with FREE Wealth Creation Workshop, Job Hunting Tips & Computer Camp at NSU’s Library

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – Set and achieve new goals this year by Rethinking, Renewing & Refocusing with the help of Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center.

Ongoing FREE programming throughout 2010 will help you learn wealth attraction techniques, new computer skills, update your resume or learn how to search for your dream job. Upcoming workshops include:

  • Adult Computer Camp: Word 2007 Basics for Beginners
    Thursday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m.
    Gain confidence and experience in using the basic features of Word. Explore templates and the ‘Ribbon’ menu interface.
  • Adult Computer Camp: LinkedIn
    Thursday, Jan. 14 at 3 p.m.
    Explore the business-oriented social networking site, LinkedIn. In this session users will learn how to create a profile and establish contacts for job and business networking opportunities.
  • Law of Attraction: Wealth Creation Now!
    Wednesday, Jan. 20 from 7-9 p.m.
    Learn where wealth originates and how to create it fast. Presented by Yvonne Dayan and Choy Wong of www.PotentialsOne.com.
  • Adult Computer Camp: Resume Writing
    Sunday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m.
    Learn how to access software and online programs such as Microsoft Office templates and Google Docs to create a résumé. Participants will also learn about NSU résumé building databases and e-books. Directions will also be given on how to complete and post a basic résumé. Attendees will be asked to bring the following: NSU Library Card, a Flash drive or a disk to save items, have access to a personal email account, and information about your work and education history to input into your résumé. Basic computer skills are required for this class.
  • Adult Computer Camp: Job Search Materials
    Sunday, Jan. 24 at 3 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 28 at 3 p.m.
    Learn how to navigate the Alvin Shermans Library’s Job Hunting help page, how to access Internet job sites, how to use the NSU databases and NovaCat, the online catalog, to locate materials that can provide instruction and guidance on job searching. Attendees will be asked to bring the following: NSU Library Card, a Flash drive or a disk to save items, and have access to a personal email account. Basic computer skills are required for this class.
