NSU’s Veterans Law Clinic to Offer Free Workshop on Removing Legal Barriers to Employment
The Veterans Law Clinic at Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Shepard Broad Law Center will offer a free workshop for South Florida Veterans seeking to expunge and seal criminal records. The workshop will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Shepard Broad Law Center’s Atrium.
The workshop will provide much-needed legal services to South Florida’s important veteran community, while offering an opportunity for Law Center Pro Bono Honor Program students to gain valuable real-world experience while being supervised by the clinic’s staff attorney. At the workshop, veterans will receive one-on-one counseling from experts who will assist in expungement and record sealing, as well as provide advice on completing employment applications with a criminal record.
This workshop is geared towards clients who have criminal records and are working with trusted community partners towards stabilization.
Pre-registration is required and participation will be limited to the first 40 qualified applicants. Registration is required on or before June 3, 2013. Pre-registration can be completed via phone at (954) 262-6184.
