NSU’s Huizenga Business School Signs on to The Principles for Responsible Management Education
FORT LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. –Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship has responded to the global call for business schools and academic associations to advance corporate social responsibility worldwide, committing to adhere to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).www.unprme.org
Initially introduced by a group of scholars and leading academic organizations at the UN Global Compact Leaders’ Summit, PRME provides a framework to guide the university’s efforts to incorporate corporate citizenship and sustainability into its curriculum and research.
“As current members of the Broward County community and future leaders of business communities within Florida and around the world, PRME is critical in helping mold our students with a keen sense of responsibility in these key areas,” said J. Preston Jones, D.B.A., dean of NSU’s Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship (HSBE) “I am proud of this important initiative that we’ve taken to move into the future with a focus on sustainability.”
A team of NSU experts, led by Isabel Rimanoczy, Ed.D., and Guenola Nonet, Ph.D both visiting professors and Scholars in Residence, are carrying out this effort throughout the university. With this commitment to PRME, the Huizenga School of Business is joining nearly 600 other signatories, universities and business schools from around the world. It demonstrates the college’s willingness to follow six principles which focus on purpose, values, learning methods, research, partnership and dialog.

PRME was developed by an international task force of 60 deans, university presidents and official representatives of leading business schools. The framework that has been created is not a substitute for existing accreditation or quality assurance systems. Instead, according to Dr. Rimanoczy, it gives us the guidance to continuously improve on NSU’s citizenship and sustainability goals.
