NSU’s 2015 Commencement Season is Underway

Multiple Ceremonies to Recognize Nearly 7,500 Graduates

Commencement3-530x355FORT LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla.-  For the first time this year, NSU will host its 2015 Commencement ceremonies on campus in the Arena at the Don Taft University Center. The first celebration of academic achievement begins Thursday, May 7, for students at NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center.  The last ceremony will be held Aug. 21 for NSU’s College of Nursing and NSU College of Health Care Sciences.

NSU will award baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees at its Commencement to students in a wide range of fields, including business, counseling, computer and information sciences, education, medicine, optometry, pharmacy, dentistry, various health professions, law, marine sciences, early childhood, human services, psychology and other social sciences. Approximately 7,500 students will receive their degrees.

Over the next few weeks, students, alumni, faculty, staff and guests will hear Commencement addresses from inspirational speakers such as Broward County School Superintendent Robert W. Runcie, Chief Judge Joseph Lewis Jr., and entrepreneur Manny Medina to name a few. Listed below is the complete schedule for NSU Commencement ceremonies.

Families, friends, and the general public are cordially invited to attend commencement. Tickets are not required but seating is limited and large groups of guests wishing to sit together should arrive early. The arena doors open one hour prior to the published start time of the ceremony for both candidates and their guests.

Commencement guests will also have the opportunity to view a live telecast of the ceremony via closed circuit television at three on-campus locations: the Flight Deck Pub and the Performing and Visual Arts Theater in the Don Taft University Center and the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center, which is part of the Alvin Sherman Library. Seating is available on a first-come basis. The sign language interpreter is visible on the live telecast screen. The simulcast viewing is not closed captioned.

All NSU Commencement ceremonies will also be video streamed in real time. Visit the NSU Commencement home page and click on the “Commencement Ceremony Live” icon for access.

All NSU Commencement video streams are archived at www.nova.edu/commencement/archives/index.html approximately one week after the ceremony.
