FORT LAUDERDALE/DAVIE, Fla. – For the first time in the 95-year history of the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of American (CSCAA), more than 700 teams received Scholar All-America recognition. In total, 720 teams representing 443 institutions achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the spring 2017 semester. Both the Nova Southeastern University men’s and women’s swimming teams were a part of that list. The men’s team finished the spring with a 3.33 grade point average, while the women’s team finished with a 3.38.

In conjunction with the Scholar All-American team announcement, the CSCAA has selected a record 997 swimmers and divers for its Scholar All-Americans. The individual CSCAA Scholar All-American selections recognize student-athletes that achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. In addition to the 997 First team selections, 954 student-athletes were named Honorable Mention selections. These student-athletes have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a “B” time standard or competed at a regional or zone qualifying meet.

A total of 13 NSU swimmers earned the CSCAA Scholar All-America distinction. From the men’s team, three were named to the First Team and three were selected as Honorable Mentions.
