NSU Professor Urges People to Get Their Flu Vaccination

Bindu S. Mayi, M.Sc., Ph.D., professor of microbiology at NSU’s College of Medical Sciences, wrote an Op-Ed article that appeared in the Orlando Sentinel about the importance of receiving your flu shot for the season.

Orlando Sentinel Now spoke about Dr. Mayi’s recommendations in their panel discussion, and stressed the fact that even the healthiest people can get sick, so preventative care is crucial. Dr. Mayi mentioned ways that you can protect yourself from the flu, such as disinfecting objects that interact with multiple people on a daily bases. The flu can be deadly and whether it be in the form of a shot or a nasal spray, seeking professional treatment can save your life, and someone else’s.
