Millions of people have turned to products with artificial sweeteners rather than real sugar because they think it’s healthier or to help them lose weight. In a recent interview with the radio program First News With Jimmy Cefalo, Deborah Ann Mulligan, M.D., FACEP, FAAP, professor at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine discussed the results of new studies on artificial sweeteners and the long-term effects of using them.
