An estimated 1.5 million ex-felons in Florida are now eligible to register to vote due to the passage of Amendment 4 during the November elections. The landmark ballot initiative restored voting rights for state residents with felony convictions who have completed their sentences, with the exception of those convicted of murder or a sexual offence.
Charles Zelden, Ph.D., professor of history and political science at NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, spoke with CNN about the influence these potential new voters may have in the swing state.
