NSU President Appoints J. Preston Jones Dean of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship
FORT LAUDERDALE (Davie), Fla. – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) President and CEO George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D. announced the appointment of J. Preston Jones, D.B.A., to the position of dean of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. The appointment was made effective Sept. 5.
“The breadth, scope and depth of Dr. Jones’ academic, business and administrative expertise makes him well-suited to further the recognition and acclaim of the Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship,” said Hanbury. “Dr. Jones has worked diligently in his previous roles overseeing all aspects of our business school. I am pleased to announce his appointment as dean of the Huizenga Business School.”
Jones has provided over two decades of leadership and service to NSU’s Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. His most recent role since March 2012 was as interim dean. He has also served as executive associate dean, associate dean for academic affairs, executive director of the master’s programs, and assistant professor of management. Jones has served as director of the M.B.A. programs, assistant professor of management, faculty coordinator for graduate programs, director of the center for entrepreneurship, and recruiter. Before entering higher education, Jones served in various engineering and management capacities at the Johnson & Johnson family of companies for more than 15 years
In 2011, Jones was appointed to the Technology, Research and Scholarship Board by former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist where he served a three-year term. He is also a member of the Zeta Lambda Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society.
Jones earned his Doctor of Business Administration and M.B.A. degrees at NSU, and received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in Indiana.
