Nova Southeastern University opens Miami-Dade’s largest Dental Facility
FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. — Nova Southeastern University has opened Miami-Dade County’s largest dental facility, which has 36 chairs.
That means the NSU’s College of Dental Medicine’s North Miami Beach facility at 1750 NE 167 Street can accommodate up to 36 patients. It also allows 80 rotating senior dental students to work under close supervision of their faculty instructors. It is one of the largest university-sponsored dental facilities in South Florida.
Using high-tech computerized equipment, the students and faculty are providing closely supervised dental care. In addition, eight postgraduate dentists are also providing total dental treatment as part of the NSU’s postgraduate program.
Patients are given weekly appointments with the same assigned senior dental student. This concept could be a model and pace setter for other dental schools to follow.
“This new facility is a welcome source of dental care available for the residents of North Miami Beach and the surrounding North Miami-Dade County area,” said Lawrence “Bud” Krasne, D.D.S., Pre-Clinical Director of the College of Dental Medicine’s North Miami Beach facility.
