NSU OPEN HOUSE FEATURES PRESENTATION ON “SAFEGUARDING YOUR CHILDREN” AND ACADEMIC INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS
Miami, FL — Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is hosting an Open House on Saturday, July 27 at the Miami Student Educational Center featuring Scott Poland, Ed.D., as a guest speaker . The renowned expert will speak briefly on “Safeguarding Children and Building Resiliency in Today’s World.”
Poland is an associate professor and co-director of NSU’s Suicide and Violence Prevention Office. He is a nationally recognized expert on school crisis, youth violence, suicide intervention, self injury, school safety, threat assessment, parenting and the delivery of psychological services in schools. He has lectured and written extensively on these subjects, appeared on all major television network news programs, and has presented over 1,000 workshops in every state and numerous foreign countries. Poland is part of the faculty of NSU’s Center for Psychological Studies.
The Open House is free and will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at NSU’s Miami Student Educational Center located at 8585 SW 124th Avenue, Miami, FL 33183.
