NSU Named to IDG’s Computerworld 2013 List of 100 Best Places to Work in Information Technology

FORT LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) was recently named in IDG’s Computerworld 2013 List of 100 Best Places to Work in Information Technology. The listing, compiled by the Computerworld editorial team, is based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention, as well as a worker satisfaction survey completed by a random sampling of IT employees at the participating organizations.

“This award is a very high honor for us at Nova Southeastern University,” said Tom West, vice president of information technology and chief information officer.  “It is recognition of the great investment that President and CEO George Hanbury II, Ph.D., and Executive Vice President and COO Jacqueline Travisano, CPA, with outstanding support from NSU’s Board of Trustees, have made in NSU technologies and our IT professionals over the last two years.”

West also attributes the success to the management team at NSU’s Office of Innovation and Information technology.  “The management team has created a cohesive, boundary-less team, with a focus on service excellence for our students, alumni, faculty and staff by providing the tools, training, and coaching that allows each team member to excel” says West.

In addition to providing access to cutting-edge technologies, NSU’s IT employees receive 10 days of training annually and, along with their spouses and dependents, are eligible for tuition waivers for undergraduate, master’s and doctoral coursework.

“We applaud the organizations on the Best Places to Work in IT list for creating and sustaining dynamic IT work environments,” said Scot Finnie, editor in chief of Computerworld. “This year, several new names have joined the stalwarts that make the list year after year. It’s clear that the best IT workplaces are constantly raising the bar with great benefits, new learning opportunities, access to cutting-edge technologies and challenging business-critical projects.”
