NSU MD Professor Discusses New Classroom Tech Initiatives

This past July, NSU welcomed its first class of 53 doctors of medicine students. This created a unique opportunity to develop a medical curriculum that integrated medical education, research, patient care and community engagement to fulfill a mission of advancing human health through innovation.

Stephen Ely, M.D., FACS, associate professor, NSU Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine, spoke with Inside Higher Ed about NSU’s new MD digital curriculum management system. Dr. Ely discusses how technology plays a pivotal role in modern health care and training students though iPads, ebooks and other innovative learning tools, allowing students to prepare for real-life clinical occurrences.
