NSU Lifelong Learning Institute Offers Classes to Keep the Brain Active

The Lifelong Learning Institute at Nova Southeastern University offers a range of lectures in subjects like literature, politics, economics and history. Linda Maurice, the program’s director, said that the goal of the LLI is to create a place for continuing education for older adults at all levels of education. It gives people the chance to learn for fun and to continue expanding their minds. Members vary in age from their 50s to 90s and come from all over the academic world.

Charles Zelden, Ph.D., a professor of history and political science in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, spoke about the mutually rewarding benefits the lecturer has, as well as the students. Dr. Zelden says members of LLI are great audiences and often ask very good and challenging questions.
