NSU Hosts Free Family Health Fair
FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. — Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will offer free health tests during its family health fair on Saturday, March 31 at the Tower Shops in Davie.
The NSU Health Fair for Children & Adults, sponsored by NSU’s Health Professions Division and the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, will offer cholesterol, blood pressure, HIV, and diabetes tests. The public will receive health care information from doctors, optometrists, physical therapists, dentists, occupational therapists, nurses, and other health-care providers.
Information about pediatrics, women’s health, family medicine, physical therapy, and public health will be available at the event. Participating NSU colleges include Osteopathic Medicine, Health Care Sciences, Nursing, Dental Medicine, and Optometry.
The Davie Fire Department will be on hand to greet children, giving them a rare opportunity to meet real local heroes. There will be a bounce house for the children, music from Kiss Country 99.9 and a blood drive. Memorial Healthcare System will also have their mobile units for adult and child health, including child immunizations.
There will also be free food and water at the health fair, which will take place between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Tower Shops/Home Depot Shopping Plaza on University Drive between Nova Drive and Interstate 595.
