NSU Adult Wellness Event to Provide Free Health Screenings
FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE Fla. – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will hold a wellness event Sunday to provide free health screenings and information to help adults continue to live and age well.
The free event on March 30, called Boomers & Beyond: A Day for Health & Wellness 2008, will provide information on health and wellness, financial issues, community resources, among other things.
There will also be free health screenings that include blood pressure, BMI (body mass index), bone density, dental/oral health, fall risk and balance, glucose (blood sugar), mental health, peripheral arterial disease & aortic aneurysm, vision health, hearing screenings and more.
The event, formerly known as NSU’s Aging Expo, is the university’s way of giving back to the community, while promoting healthy living and well-being throughout adulthood. NSU will showcase the variety of services and resources available to adults living in Broward County.
This year, the event is expanding to include people ages 40 and older. Boomers & Beyond is the adult complement to NSU’s A Day for Children, another annual wellness event held every September. That event also provides free health screenings.
Boomers & Beyond will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at NSU’s Health Professions Division, located at the corner of University Drive and 30th Street.
