Nova Southeastern University-Orlando to Host Open House
ORLANDO, Fla – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will host an Open House on March 9, 2013 at its Orlando Student Educational Center (SEC). The Open House, which is free and open to the public, will provide information about the various health, education, business, and psychology programs NSU Orlando offers, as well as host three guest speakers on the topics, “Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification,” “The Impact of poverty on educational structures & how districts are responding,” and “CPR Training and Recertification for Health Professionals.”
“We’ve scheduled three very interesting speakers for this Open House. Each of them has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and will provide great insight into career options for prospective students,” said Michael Daniel, M.B.A., Director of NSU’s Orlando SEC. “We’re truly honored to have Christopher Voehl, Master Black Belt Lean Six Sigma, Monica Knight, Ph.D., and Mark Wyatt, DNP, MSN, NE-BC present at our Open House.”
Christopher Voehl, Master Black Belt Lean Six Sigma, is the Chief Information Officer for Strategy Associates, a professional services firm. Mr. Voehl is also an Instructor of Executive Education at the Nova Southeastern University Huizenga Business School, specializing in Lean Six Sigma course delivery, and has served as a member of the American Society for Quality since 1995. He also serves as the Director of Technology for the Broward County Executive Council of the Saint Vincent De Paul Society.
Mark Wyatt, DNP, MSN, NE-BC, has been with the College of Nursing at NSU Orlando for a year and a half. HeHe He currently serves as the RN to BSN and RN to MSN program director, and is a member on various committees within the College of Nursing. His nursing experience includes nurse educator, nurse administrator, psych, hospice, and long-term care. His past research includes a pilot study on lateral violence among nursing home nurses.
Monica Knight, Ph.D., has seventeen years of experience, eight years in the classroom and nine years in educational administration. In her current role as Title I/Special Projects Coordinator and Principal Mentor for Seminole County Schools, she has helped the Seminole County Public School system gain several large federal grants to support free academic enrichment programs at our highest poverty elementary and high schools, as well as helped to implement numerous programs/structures to economically, socially, emotionally, and academically stabilize over 1800 homeless students in Seminole County.
Attendees at the Open House can expect admissions counselors to be on hand answering questions on scholarships, grants, the financial aid process, admission requirements, and deadlines.
