Nova Southeastern University Student Veterans Association to Commemorate 9/11 Anniversary

Students to “Plant” Nearly 3,000 American Flags to Honor Those Who Lost Their Lives

MEDIA ADVISORY

WHO:   Members of the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Student Veterans Association

WHAT:    9/11 Anniversary Remembranceveterans NSU logo

WHERE: NSU’s Commons – outside of NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library, 3301 College Ave., Fort Lauderdale (Main Campus)

WHEN:   Starting approximately 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, students will be “planting” approximately 3,000 flags on NSU’s main campus. There will also be a remembrance table inside NSU’s Don Taft University Center (near the Flight Deck eatery)

WHY:   As the anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001 is upon us, the Student Veterans Association at NSU wanted to mark the solemn occasion in a way that would respect and dignify those who lost their lives on that fateful day. To that end, NSU students will be “planting” nearly 3,000 U.S. Flags in the common area on the main campus, and at various entry points to the campus, which will remain for Friday, Sept. 11. There will also be a moment of silence observed on Friday to honor those lost on that day.
