Nova Southeastern University of Palm Beach Relocates to New Center

New State-of-the-Art Facility Brings World Class Education to Palm Beach County

PALM BEACH, FLA. – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) has relocated and expanded its Student Educational Center to a new state-of-the art facility in Palm Beach Gardens at the intersection of I-95 and Military Trail.

A ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 13 at 5 pm to celebrate the opening of the new four-story, 75,000-square-foot facility.

“We are excited about expanding our higher educational programs in Palm Beach County, especially in career areas where there is a critical shortage  throughout our state and the nation,” said NSU President George L. Hanbury, II, Ph.D.

NSU has been offering degree programs in Palm Beach County for more than 35 years.  Currently, the Palm Beach Center has more than 1,400 students enrolled in bachelor, master, doctoral and professional degree programs, including pharmacy, business, education, mental health counseling and school psychology.  Two new nursing programs, a Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, will be added to the curriculum beginning in January of 2012. For a list of all educational programs offered, or for additional information about the Center, visit www.nova.edu/palmbeach .

“We know there is a high demand in our county for well-educated professionals,” said Kelly Smallridge, President & CEO of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County.   “NSU’s Student Educational Center allows us to educate our residents and let them perform in high demand job categories such as nursing, pharmacy and business management and stay right here in Palm Beach County.”

The new facility features 26 classrooms, including four labs. It is equipped with video conferencing capabilities, computer labs, wireless internet connection throughout the facility, a student lounge, a fitness area and other amenities.   The Center will be available to host community events and conferences.

“Our students and the community will benefit from the move to this building,” said Palm Beach Student Educational Center Director George Dungee. “We welcome the public to attend the grand opening ceremony or to come visit us any time.”   The Center will be hosting an Open House at 6 pm during the grand opening where prospective students can meet faculty and staff and tour the facility.

Stiles Corp. developed the property and built the facility at 11501 North Military Trail.
