Nova Southeastern University Hosting Annual International Faculty Training Workshop – ‘Educating Millennials and Beyond’

Ft. LAUDERDALE/DAVIE, FLA. – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is pleased to announce the topic of its 2017 Shepard Broad College of Law International Faculty Training Workshop: “Educating Millennials and Beyond.”
The workshop will be held Tuesday, July 25, through Friday, July 28, focusing on what educators can do to understand and effectively educate this generation of students and the one that follows. The goal of the Workshop is to share ideas on how to educate millennials in law schools globally.” Shahabudeen Khan, Associate Dean of International Program, NSU Shepard Broad College of Law. Topics will include technology, entrepreneurship, social justice, global perspective and experiential learning/teaching. In-depth discussion and learning experiences will cover engaging millennials with hands-on, application–based case studies (new knowledge is discovered and synthesized actively between group members) describing and employing the National Institute for Trial Advocacy’s (NITA) “Learning by Doing” mode.
“It is imperative in today’s global legal and business environment that information and techniques are exchanged between educators on an international level,” said Jon M. Garon, dean of the Shepard Broad College of Law. “We are pleased to be able to bring so many world-class faculty to the NSU campus in Ft. Lauderdale.”
Faculty members are attending from Universidad de Navarra, Spain; Aarhus University, Denmark; Tbilisi State University, Georgia; University of the Bahamas, Hugh Wooding Law School, Trinidad & Tobago; Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law, Pakistan; Shoolini University, India; Norman Manley Law School, Jamaica; UNIVERSIDAD DE SAN BUENAVENTURA, CALI, Colombia; and Nations School of Law/ University of London, Guyana are among those attending the workshop.
