Nova Southeastern University to Host Open House at its Tampa location

Event will showcase health, education, business and other academic programs available locally

TAMPA, Fla. — Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will host a special Health Professions and Education Expo during its March 3 Open House at 9:30 am at its Tampa Student Educational Center (SEC) on Queen Palm Drive.

“In addition to providing information about many of the educational programs at our university, we are featuring a special education and health expo to inform perspective students about education and health care careers and the academic programs we offer at our Tampa site to help students achieve their professional goals,” said Racquel Khuri Director of NSU’s Tampa Student Educational Center.

Professors and other program representatives from NSU’s College of Health Care Sciences will be on hand to answer questions about the anesthesiologist assistant, physical therapy and the new occupational therapy and cardiovascular sonography programs.  Admissions counselors will answer questions on scholarships, grants, financial aid process, admission requirements and deadlines. University professionals will also be present to discuss future trends in the health professions.

NSU’s Abraham Fischler School of Education will also host a free workshop on innovative leadership trends.  Workshop presenter Deborah Coyle, Ed.D., will speak on developing leadership skills, enhancing relations and promoting teamwork.  Coyle was employed with the Hillsborough School District for 32 years, having served as an elementary principal for 26 years before retiring in January, 2010.  She currently serves as an adjunct instructor at NSU teaching educational leadership courses at the master’s and doctoral level.  Her presentation will begin at 9:30 am .
