Nova Southeastern University to Host Open House at its Miami Location

Event to Offer Free Seminar on The Effect of the Current Education Changes in Florida

Miami, Fla — Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will host a special Education Expo during its March 31 Open House at its Miami Student Educational Center (SEC).  The Expo will include a free seminar on “How Will the Education Changes in Florida Effect You, Your School, and Your District?”  The Open House will run from 9:30 am to noon.

NSU’s Abraham Fischler School of Education will present the free seminar which will be led by Margaret B. Petersen, Ed.D.   Petersen will speak about the changes the State of Florida is implementing between 2011 and 2014 for teachers and administrators.

Petersen has an extensive background in education that includes teaching at each level from preschool to post-graduate college and over 40 years as a professional developer for teachers and educational leaders.  She has been associated with Nova Southeastern University since 1980.

“The Open House is a great time to learn about all the various education programs NSU offers at the Miami location,” said Ricardo Belmar Director of NSU’s Miami Student Educational Center.  “Prospective students not only learn about programs but they get to see the state-of-the-art educational facility we have.”

The Open House provides an opportunity to learn about the vast array of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs NSU has to offer.  In attendance will be program representatives, faculty and staff who will answer questions about programs, scholarships, grants, student affairs and financial aid.

The NSU SEC is located at 8585 SW 124th Avenue, Miami, FL 33183.  For additional information, call 305-275-2600 or nsu-miami@nova.edu .
