Nova Southeastern University Expanding Educational Center in West Palm Beach
New 75,000-square-foot facility to be located off I-95 in Palm Beach Gardens; Construction to begin January 2010
FT. LAUDERDALE (DAVIE), FLA. – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is expanding its Student Educational Center in West Palm Beach with the construction of a new four story, 75,000-square-foot-facility.
The new center will be located at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Military Trail in Palm Beach Gardens. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2010 and completed by January 2011.
Once completed, NSU will move out of its current 60,000-square-foot West Palm Beach center located at 3790 RCA Blvd. in Palm Beach Gardens and into the new facility. The new building will feature 26 classrooms, including four labs. It will also include a student lounge, a fitness area, a pharmacy library and offices. Classes will be offered in the new facility beginning in summer 2011.
“This new, larger building will allow us to expand our academic programs in Palm Beach County and help meet the higher education needs in the area,” said NSU President Ray Ferrero, Jr. ”Our current and future students will benefit from the move, and the location right next to I-95 is perfect for our needs.”
NSU’s Student Educational Center in West Palm Beach currently has more than 1,400 students enrolled and offers bachelor, master, specialist and doctoral degrees in numerous programs, including pharmacy, business, education, mental health counseling and school psychology. NSU has had a presence in Palm Beach County for more than 35 years. More information on NSU’s Student Educational Center in West Palm Beach is available at http://www.nova.edu/sec/wpb/.
For the new facility, Stiles Corp is purchasing and developing the property and NSU will purchase the building after its completion.
“We’re proud to partner with NSU by providing a turnkey solution for the expanded Student Educational Center,” said Terry Stiles, CEO of the full-service Stiles commercial real estate firm. “NSU’s facilities are known for craftsmanship and advanced technology, and our team welcomes the opportunity to deliver both — on schedule for January 2011.”
