FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – Join Nova Southeastern University (NSU) alumni, faculty and staff as they prepare for a week full of fun to celebrate NSU’s 2013 Homecoming Celebration, Shark Tales.  Highlights include the Homecoming Kick-Off Celebration, the Anything that Floats Raft Races, the 7th Annual Homecoming Tailgate and the Men’s Basketball vs. West Liberty Homecoming Game.

This is an exciting time for NSU, as the university prepares to celebrate its 50-year anniversary in 2014.

NSU’s Homecoming Kick-Off Celebration

Date: Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013
Time: 12 – 4 p.m.
Location: Alvin Sherman Library Quad

NSU’s Homecoming Celebration, Shark Tales will begin with a Kick-Off Celebration that will include a zip line, food trucks, entertainment, inflatables, free t-shirts, and other great giveaways!  The women’s basketball team tips off their season-opener against Washburn at 12 noon followed by the women’s volleyball game (NSU vs. Barry) at 7p.m. in the NSU Arena at the Don Taft University Center (free admission with your NSU Shark Card and free admission for all active duty veteran military personnel for both games).  For more information, please contact the Office of Student Activities at (954) 262-7288.

 

Sallarulo’s Race for Champions 5k and Carnival

Date: Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013

Time: 8 a.m.

Location: Alvin Sherman Library Quad

NSU Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Banquet 

Date: Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013

Time: 7 p.m.

Location: Don Taft University Center

The induction ceremony will recognize four former NSU student-athletes who have made outstanding contributions to the successes of NSU athletics.

 

Anything That Floats Raft Races

Date: Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013

Time: 4 – 6 p.m.

Location: NSU’s Gold Circle Lake

Have you ever seen a pond filled with homemade rafts and students struggling to make them move or even stay afloat? Come exhibit your carpentry skills and win money at the annual “Anything That Floats” Raft Race. Whether you compete or cheer for your favorite team, it will be an event you’ll never forget. NSU Sharks Basketball Pep Rally

Date: Friday, Nov. 15, 2013

Time: 12-1 p.m.

Location: Don Taft University Center Pit

Enjoy free food and a chance to win a book scholarship up to $1,000 for the Winter 2014 semester. The winner’s name will be drawn during the NSU Men’s Basketball game. The men’s and women’s basketball teams, and the 2013 Homecoming Court, will be introduced, and the Sharkettes will perform.

 

Sharks Homecoming Tailgate

Date: Friday, Nov. 15, 2013
Time: 4 – 6 p.m.
Location: NSU Shark Fountain (at the east entrance of the Don Taft University Center)

Get excited for the Homecoming Game with 640 AM Sports broadcasting the Big O Show live. Enjoy free tailgate food, face painting and more! Students will have the opportunity to shoot hoops for a chance to win a book scholarship of up to $1,000 for the Winter 2014 semester. The winner’s name will be drawn at the NSU Men’s Basketball game.

 

NSU Homecoming Basketball Game

Date: Friday, Nov. 15, 2013

Time: 6 p.m.

Location: NSU Arena at Don Taft University Center

Come out and show your SHARK Pride and cheer on the NSU Basketball team! The Homecoming King & Queen will be announced during half time. The drawing for the winner of the book scholarship (up to $1,000) will take place during the game. Join us for giveaways from Best Buy, Duffy’s Sports Grill, Moe’s Southwest Grill, and Barnes and Noble.
