Nova Southeastern University Appoints Vanessa Blanco Director of the San Juan, Puerto Rico Regional Campus

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico  – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) President and CEO Dr. George Hanbury has announced the appointment of Vanessa Blanco, B.S., as director of NSU’s San Juan, Puerto Rico Regional Campus. She previously was the Assistant Director at the Miami Campus.

Blanco, a native of San Juan, has more than 26 years of experience in the sales and recruiting industries. Her work with universities in Florida and Puerto Rico in the areas of recruitment, financial aid, admissions and evaluation as well as the student loan industry, has included managing a team of employees to identify new market opportunities to introduce and grow sales and gain market share in the U.S., The Caribbean and Puerto Rico.

“Vanessa has a proven record of increasing student recruitment at local and international levels as well as establishing agreements with international government agencies that will continue to be of great benefit to NSU,” said Dr. Hanbury. “Her work with several universities, high schools and businesses on the island will help her to be a success on this job.”

Located in the Professional Offices Park in San Juan, NSU’s newest regional campus offers programs in education and pharmacy, as well as online degrees in business, counseling, law and other fields of study.

“Vanessa has gained her success through persistence, hard work, and insight into our students’ needs, as well as a solid understanding of matching programs and services to those needs,” added Ricardo Belmar, M.I.B.A., NSU Vice President of Regional Campus Operations.

Blanco graduated with honors with a B.S. in Professional Administration from Barry University in Miami. She also holds a Florida Trainer’s Certification from Barry University and Sub-Teaching Training Certification from Broward Community College. Blanco has received sales training through Bank of America, Sallie Mae and Nelnet.
